"You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand." Psalm 16:11

Welcome to Extraordinary Treasures!

Whatever we encounter on our journey--celebrations or struggles, routine activity or a new life season, we can find treasures in every experience. If we look for it, we can find

        peace during a difficulty,

            wisdom for a decision,

                learning through waiting,

                     compassion when grieved,

and even joy when circumstances say otherwise.

Life's most extraordinary treasure is developing a thriving relationship with God.  We can know His faithfulness on every path we walk.

If you are looking for encouragement and want to capture extraordinary treasures, you've stopped at the right place. Walk through the following pages. So glad you're here!

About Marilyn...

In 2004 Marilyn sensed that God was moving her away from her career as a speech-language pathologist and professor in Christian higher ed, to writing and other areas of women's ministry.Since that time, she has served as a Bible teach and in women's ministries and  a contributor to  compilations and on-line blogs and sites. Her first book, Dressed up Moms' Devotions to Go, was released in May, 2006. She also edited Penned from the Heart, a compilation of 366 devotions and poems.

Nearly thirty years ago, Marilyn had the benefit of a mentor who pointed her to extraordinary treasures from the Bible. She has also found that life's paths with its detours, seasons, and challenges have priceless God-given treasures along the way and inspired her to write Diva Delights.  She considers it a privilege to pass on her life experiences through writing and teaching.

Marilyn and her husband took early retirement and moved to the Charlotte area in January 2009. Life abruptly changed in December, 2011, when her husband suffered a fatal attack. Her experience with grief and loss have allowed her to contribute to blogs on that topic and serve as a facilitator for a grief support group at her church. In August 2014 she moved to Greer, SC where she enjoys being near family and serves in women's ministries at Taylors First Baptist Church. She has found God's faithfulness to be real and mercies new with every step she takes.

Marilyn has three grown daughters, three sons-in-law, and eight sweet grandchildren. When they  gather around her dining room table, you will hear her say without a doubt, time together is a treasure and "My cup is running over."
